At approx 0930 a house assignment was dropped at 4215 Glenn Dale Rd for a reported basement fire. Engine 181 arrived on the scene to find a single story family dwelling, with nothing evident. The crew from 18 advanced the 200ft pre-connect into the basement  via main stairs through side alpha. Crews encountered heavy smoke conditions and moderate heat conditions. Battalion Fire Chief 2 (Mooney) arrived on the scene establishing the command and requesting a report, The officer from Engine 181 advised that they had a job in the basement and was getting a knock on the fire. Command held  Company 18, 33  and Ladder 28 operating. Once the fire was knocked down by Engine 18 with Engine 33 backing them up. The assignment was scaled back to company 18 and 33 for mop up. Company 18 returned to service in about hour.
