New Addition to Company 18

After six months of hard work, on Friday, October 16, 2009, the Glenn Dale Fire Association, Inc. proudly placed into service a new 2009 International PL Custom ambulance. This is the first new ambulance in Glenn Dale in many years, and helps reduce the workload that was being performed by our 1998 Ford PL Custom we placed into service in March 2006. Both units will remain fully stocked and ready for service, pending staffing availability. Our thanks to Myron VanSickle, sales representative for Capitol Response Vehicles for working with us on this purchase. Glenn Dale also recently placed into service the first Lifepak 1000 AED recently authorized for use in Prince George's County. This is the fourth AED for Glenn Dale, with one each on our front line engine, rescue squad, and each of our BLS ambulances.
