In the early morning hours Engine 181 was alerted for a reported house fire at 12602 Safety turn in Company 39 first due.  Engine 181 dispatched as 3rd due on the assignment arrived first to find a Cape Cod style house with heavy fire showing from the second floor. Engine 181 crew stretched the 200ft pre connect attack line to the second floor. With limited visibility and high heat conditions the crew from company 18 made an aggressive knock on the bulk fire. Engine company 16 arrived on scene second and secured Company 18 water supply placing a back up line in service. With the bulk of the fire knocked the assignment was quickly scaled back to Engines 18 and 16 and Truck 28 and Tower 39 to assist the 1500 cars and over haul. Engine 181 cleared the assignment within about 3 hours.
